A place at the table was begun by then PBDCCW President Dolores Hughes to help feed the needy in the Diocese of Palm Beach.

Each Deanery and Affiliation was asked to place in their budget a line item for this charity.  For every dinner that the Deanery/Affiliation pays for (i.e. Seminarian Luncheon, Convention, etc.) a matching amount be added to A Place at the Table.
All monies collected were to be sent to the Diocesan Treasurer in April and a check for the total amount collected is given to the Bishop at the Annual Convention.
